Do you need to keep an IPM posting book at each school site?

IPM is covered by Education Code 17612 and spells out all the details on the notification process when pesticides are utilized.  One question that comes up frequently is whether each school site must keep a physical printed copy of the postings at their site?

The answer – it depends

If you have a program like IPMNotice.info (online solution) and you can provide parents and guardians (general public) access  to that site on demand, then you can forgo the physical hard copy of the postings.  Again, this would assume that you have all 4 years of your records in your online solution.

On the other hand, if the general public does not have access to a computer terminal and the online solution while standing at your school site office, then a physical copy is best.  And as we say in risk management, 2 is 1 and 1 is none.
