SB 241 of 2009 closed the loophole in food establishments by adding a category for the mobile food trucks that you often see at construction sites, games or various places around California.
The Assembly’s summary read like this:
Makes a number of technical and clarifying changes to food safety laws governing retail food facilities regulated under the California Retail Food Code (CRFC) and establishes a new category of single operating site mobile food facilities (MFFs) subject to the RFC. Includes an urgency clause to make this bill effective immediately upon enactment.
